We offer state-of-the-art testing and consultations with Cardiologists.

The Various Cardiac Services Available Are :

  • ECGs
  • Stress tests (Computerized Tread Mill Test)
  • Digital 2D Echo with color Doppler
  • Pulmonary Function Test
  • HOLTER MONITOR
  • E.E.G
  • AMBULATORY BLOOD PRESSURE MONITOR

An electrocardiogram (ECG / EKG) is an electrical recording of the heart and is used in the investigation of heart disease. The ECG machines installed in the centres are BPL 108, MAESTROS MEDILINE MAGIC R and UNI-EM CARDIOMIN 3C2 for betterment of our patients. It is a graphic display of the electrical activity of the heart. An ECG may be done as part of a routine physical exam. It may be repeated any time if there are questions about the working of your heart.

Preparations for ECG :

You will be brought to the ECG department in the centre. The technician will ask you to take off your clothing from the waist up, and lie down on a bed. The technician will place a small electrode (a small self-sticking plastic patch) on each of your arms and legs and across six areas on your chest. You need to lie still for the minute or two so that it takes the machine to make a record.

A stress test, sometimes called a treadmill test or exercise test, helps physicians find out how well the heart handles stress. As the body works harder during the test, it requires more oxygen and the heart has to pump more blood. The test can show if the blood supply is reduced in the arteries that supply the heart. It also helps doctors know the kind and level of exercise appropriate for a patient. The machine installed is UNI-EM TMT

Preparations for Stress Test :

A person taking the test is hooked up to the equipment to monitor the heart. They are asked to walk slowly in place on a treadmill, on which the speed is increased for a faster pace in stages and which is tilted to produce the effect of going up a small hill.

Color Doppler is color-encoded Sonography of the Cardiac blood vessels. It is similar to Sonography and there is no involvement of any injection of contrast. It complements 2-D echocardiography and conventional Doppler techniques by providing color flow maps that improve the spatial characterization of flow disturbances.

Patient Benefits :

  • Faster Examination
  • High resolution images for detection of subtle abnormalities.
  • Vascular information

In today’s industrial age lung functioning is hampered due to pollutants and also by smoking and ailments such as Asthma. Pulmonary Function Test (SPIROMETRY MACINE FROM UNI-EM) measures the breathing capacity of the lungs, helps in detecting any decreased lung function & also helps to decide the course of treatment.

A Holter monitor is a type of ambulatory electrocardiography device, a portable device for cardiac monitoring for 24, 48 , 72 hours. The Holter’s most common use is for monitoring ECG heart activity.

Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM) is a diagnostic test to determine the presence of hypertension by taking measurements during normal daily activities, over a span of 24 consecutive hours.
